A Beautiful San Diego Courthouse Wedding leading to an intimate celebration at Julep the Venue
Erin and George are truly two of the most delightful individuals I have ever had the joy of encountering. From our very first phone call, I instinctively knew they were kindred spirits. When they shared their wedding day plans with me, my heart as a San Diego wedding photographer swelled with excitement.
Envision this: a serene and intimate San Diego courthouse wedding preceding with a next-day-main celebration. A delightful stroll through bay-front San Diego with your photographer best friend, easing the butterflies in your stomach while securing your marriage license amidst the warmth of family and friends. All the while, you can bask in the simple joy of being married for a moment before transitioning to your formal event.
To say I was thrilled would be an understatement. Erin and George’s infectious energy promised to illuminate any venue in San Diego, yet they chose the stunning Julep Venue for their main celebration—a hidden gem in San Diego County, highly recommended for its charm.
Far from the administrative building, the following day unfolded at Julep Venue, where Erin and George’s nuptials blossomed with rich cultural traditions and profound love.

During their traditional Chinese ceremony, Erin donned a striking red Qipao, a symbol of joy and prosperity, as she and George exchanged vows. Following this heartfelt moment, they honored their families with a beautiful tea ceremony, with clear joy pasted on the faces of all present—including my own!
Wedding photography is a longstanding passion for me, and each event continues to move me deeply. From the simplicity of obtaining a marriage license to witnessing a time-honored ritual rich with history, the awe of such moments always captivates my heart.
Now, enough about my sentiments; let us turn our attention back to these two radiant souls who brightened Southern California’s night sky.
After the couple had paid their respects, and all family portraits were captured, they joined their guest at the delightful cocktail hour. The Julep Venue offers both indoor and outdoor spaces, providing versatility for any couple. Erin and George opted for an indoor ceremony, allowing guests to enjoy the patio bar.
Then, the moment arrived for the couple to make their grand entrance and share their first dance. Knowing Erin and George as I do, it was only the beginning of many enchanting night to come. With an atmosphere and timeline brimming with energy and affection, it wasn’t long before the dance floor filled with their closest friends, swept away in joy.
The celebration continued with lighthearted dancing and heartfelt displays of love throughout the evening, creating a truly elegant occasion for this wonderful couple. Their magical night was beautifully orchestrated by the talented Made By Connie, whose design transformed the space into a perfect setting for Erin and George to share such a lovely evening with their dearest loved ones.
So, if you’re contemplating a San Diego courthouse wedding, remember that it need not be a mere civil affair. You have the power to craft something extraordinary, a celebration that will accompany you with magic for the rest of your lives.
Love,
Amy
